What is the Foreign TIN?
Usually your TIN is any personal number where you register your taxes with the IRS of your country of residence.
This document is NOT your NIF Portugal (which is your tax number in Portugal).
If your country does not have this type of number, you can provide a national ID card number.
What do I need to supply?
The bank needs a document showing your foreign TIN AND your full name.
You can’t send the number only!
Depending on the case, the document may be an identity or social security card, a tax return or a TIN document from your local tax office.
